ARTALKS is a flagship training initiative of Karnika Foundation that uses theatre as a powerful tool for education, personal development, and social engagement. The programme is designed for children, youth, and community groups, and has been successfully implemented in institutions such as University College Thiruvananthapuram, Christ College Vizhinjam, Namaste Wings to Fly Children’s Home, Entry Home, and various government schools across Kerala.
Through theatre games, group activities, skits, mime, and creative expression, participants engage in experiential learning that promotes confidence, communication skills, emotional awareness, teamwork, and critical thinking. ARTALKS creates a safe and interactive space where individuals learn by doing, reflecting, and collaborating.
CARRY CRAFTY is a skill development initiative of Karnika Foundation aimed at economically and socially disadvantaged school and college students and women, aged between 15 and 40 years. The programme provides hands-on training in creating eco-friendly products such as notebooks, notepads, paper bags, and related stationery items, along with basic guidance on marketing and income generation.
The project has successfully conducted training programmes for college students and supported various institutions by supplying customized notepads, tags, and paper-based materials for events and activities.
EK-NOWLEDGE is a discussion and knowledge-sharing platform of Karnika Foundation designed to encourage open dialogue, critical thinking, and social awareness among youth and adults. The platform provides a structured space for individuals to express opinions, exchange ideas, and engage in meaningful conversations on contemporary issues that shape society.
The initiative has been successfully conducted through multiple online sessions at the All Kerala level and offline discussions in educational and community settings. Topics covered include mental health concerns such as post-partum depression, emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, digital learning and the role of e-books, social media influence, and various youth-centric and social themes.
EK-NOWLEDGE follows a participatory and inclusive approach, where discussions are moderated to ensure respectful dialogue, diverse perspectives, and informed engagement. The platform promotes freedom of expression while encouraging responsible communication and evidence-based thinking.
ULLAM is the mental health and psychosocial support wing of Karnika Foundation. The programme focuses on promoting emotional wellbeing, psychological awareness, and personal development through workshops, training sessions, and interactive programmes.
ULLAM organises art therapy sessions, mental health awareness programmes, counselling-oriented discussions, and wellbeing webinars for students, youth, and communities. The initiative integrates psychology with creative methods such as art, theatre, and storytelling to encourage open dialogue, reduce stigma, and strengthen emotional resilience.
